Campaign for Learning policy briefings: taking forward the statutory right to request adult training.

‘Taking forward the statutory right to request adult training’, on 9 June, 11am – 1pm in London. As part of it’s pre-legislative Queen’s speech the government has announced a consultation on extending the legal rights for employees to request time to train. The right to request and duty to consider principle first emerged in relation to flexible working.

This session will examine the advantages of extending the right to request and duty to consider to adult skills. It will also look at the links to statutory entitlement for day release for 16-18 year olds in work under the learning leaving age and the right to request time off for adult training.

Delegates will hear presentations from Mark Corney, Policy Adviser to the Campaign for Learning and Iain Murray, Head of Education at the TUC.
