The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is looking to appoint a Children and Young People’s Participation Project Manager to oversee its activities and framework for the participation of children and young people (CYP).

£32170-39139 (Salaries are usually appointed at the first point on the scale)

The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health is looking to appoint a Children and Young People’s Participation Project Manager to oversee its activities and framework for the participation of children and young people (CYP).  Current activities include facilitating a national Youth Advisory Panel of young people from across the UK who advise the College on health issues for young people, act as a consultation group and ensure the voice of children and young people are heard. Other activities include attending committee meetings in an advisory role, encouraging paediatricians nationally to involve CYP in health services and individual practice, creating guidelines for best practice, organizing training events for members and individual project work with other College departments, examining ways of involving CYP in medical education and training.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of consulting and engaging with children, young people and their parents across the age range and a commitment to including and enabling the views of children and young people.  They will have excellent communication skills, displaying high standards of accuracy and an ability to provide information for a variety of audiences including doctors and other health professionals, the general public and children and young people.  Knowledge of social research methodology will be an advantage.
