The way government addresses home education is significant for all alternative approaches and critical educational perspectives. It highlights important issues about the nature of education, childhood, human and civil rights, the boundaries between state and family and so on. The continuous calls for further restrictions and controls over HE rests on concerns about safeguarding and latterly radicalisation. If there were convincing evidence we would share those worries.
