Infocow workshop
Bristol, 26 October

We are looking for six teachers or practitioners to attend a workshop on how Infocow can be used in secondary schools. The website supports young people aged 14-19 to access information and opportunities across a range of subjects and find out more about their rights. This open brainstorming session will aim to create class activities involving the resource which will be written up in session plans and placed on Futurelab’s website. We are able to pay £75 to each attendee to cover time and travel costs.
Who should attend? Key Stage 3, 4, or 5 teachers (particularly of citizenship and PSHE).

Digital literacy professional development workshop
Exeter, 4 November
In an increasingly digital age, people need to develop digital literacy practices in order to participate fully in learning, work, civic-life and leisure activities. This participatory workshop aims to help practitioners explore how digital literacy supports and can be supported by curriculum subject teaching.

Who should attend? Primary and secondary school teachers.

Futures thinking workshop
Bristol, 24 November
How do you develop young people’s understanding of current global, local and personal issues? How do you support students to think about the future that’s being created and their role in shaping it? The Futures Thinking workshop, closely linked to National Curriculum requirements, aims to assist teachers in engaging Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students in grounded enquiry into current trends and possible futures, developing skills such as collaboration, questioning, research and communication.
Early bird booking fee: £185 available until 22 October.
Who should attend? Key Stage 3 and 4 teachers (particularly of geography, citizenship, English and PSHE).

Learning spaces visioning and repurposing 
Bristol, 25 November
This workshop will involve participants in role-plays, mind-mapping, asset mapping and the analysis of possible, probable and preferable futures using tools and resources to help schools engage in strategic visioning activities, to ensure that the new or repurposed spaces can really support and enhance learning.

Who should attend? School leaders involved in designing new or repurposing existing learning spaces.
