European Democratic Education Conference – EUDEC 2008: 25th July – 3rd August

The European Democratic Education Conference, EUDEC 2008, is a meeting for democratic schools, academics, teachers and students as well as anyone committed to the democratisation of schooling and education in Europe. It will also be the first Annual Meeting of the European Democratic Education Community, a new European network which has been founded to promote the acceptance of Democratic Education in all European states. The conference will offer European democratic schools the opportunity to share information about their work and to join and participate in the work of the Community. At the same time this forum shall give members of the general public, as well as researchers and political decision-makers, the opportunity to learn more about the current, significant growth of democratisation in schools throughout Europe and around the world, and to contribute their ideas and experience to this dynamic movement.
Conference dates: 25 July to 3 August 2008 (open to general public on 31 July and 1 August)
Conference venue: University of Leipzig, Germany
