1.  The Sustainable Schools Alliance was launched yesterday in London, offering voluntary support to take the momentum forward around sustainable schools

Lord Hill, Under Secretary for Schools at DfE, spoke at the launch, as did a representative from DEFRA

Its website is http://sustainable-schools-alliance.org.uk – one for your bookmarks?

Various working groups and e-discussions are also being set up

The West Midlands LAs network, as well as this Liaison Group, also remain active

2.  Dame Clare Tickell’s report on the Early Years Foundation Stage came out today.

“I recommend that playing and exploring, active learning, and creating and thinking critically are highlighted in the EYFS as three characteristics of effective teaching and learning.”

An initial look at the report seems encouraging for Global Learning. What do people think?  You can comment via the Tide~ Facebook page …

Best wishes
