Assessment of the Impact of the Commercial World on Children’s Wellbeing: call for evidence

DCSF and DCMS have recently launched an Assessment of the Impact of the Commercial World on Children’s Wellbeing – a commitment under the government’s Children’s Plan. The assessment is being conducted by a panel of academics chaired by David Buckingham of the Institute of Education, and including key figures from a range of disciplines.

A major part of this assessment is a call for evidence: we want to hear from children, young people, parents, academics, industry, trade associations and other interested parties. The terms of reference for the assessment are quite broadly defined, and include many issues that will be of concern for researchers in Childhood Studies.

The terms of reference for the assessment and the calls for evidence can be found at: http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/consultations. You can also get in touch with the assessment at: commercial.world@dcsf.gsi.gov.uk.
